God's Promises, Grace & Abundance | Lands

God gave the earth to the children of men — and He's always been a God of "GO." When He called Abraham, He didn't just promise blessing; He promised land, a place to plant roots and build a life of faith.
We've had our own "go" seasons — street witnessing at Mardi Gras, launching a Bible school, buying a building on faith with $40,000 saved against a $150,000 need, and watching the rest supernaturally provided. God has never once been late.
But here's something worth sitting with: God also commanded rest for the land itself. Every seventh year, the ground was to rest — and He promised that the sixth year's harvest would be enough to cover three. That's not scarcity thinking. That's abundance built into obedience.
Too many of us live like the Israelites who wandered for forty years outside a land already prepared — "houses you did not build, wells you did not dig." The work was finished. They just couldn't believe it was theirs to walk into.
Jesus told a parable about a landowner who hired workers throughout the day — some at dawn, some at noon, some just an hour before quitting time — and paid every one of them the same generous wage. The early workers complained. But the landowner asked simply, "Is your eye evil because I am good?"
I think we're often more like those early workers than we'd like to admit — comparing, keeping score, feeling shortchanged by grace that seems too generous for someone else. But envy makes generosity look unfair. It never does.
If there's one thing I've learned from decades in ministry, it's this: God is a landowner who is relentlessly, extravagantly generous, and He's not asking us to earn our portion. He's asking us to receive it without resentment toward whoever else is receiving theirs.
Whatever "land" you're standing at the edge of today — a dream, a calling, a promise that feels too good to be true — remember, the work has already been finished. You're not conquering it through your own strength. You're simply walking into what's already prepared.
Whatever is right, you will receive. Go ahead and take possession.
